On land, there were people that were not like Paz and Nita--they had two legs that allowed them to walk on land, and gigantic wings covered in feathers. Paz watched them, careful to stay out of sight, and wondered if this was the enemy of the war in which Nita spoke. As the winged people took to the sky, Paz marveled at how easily they could switch environments--from land to sky, sky to land--and envied their adaptability. He and Nita were relegated to the ocean forever.
Why should these people wage war on a species that was already inferior to them? They ruled 2/3 of the planet's terrain, what need did they have for the other 1/3? But Paz knew, somehow, that greed worked in mysterious ways and it was very likely that these elegant but unusual people were out to destroy his kind.
There's only one way to find out...
Paz swam away from the rocks, making his way into open water, and when he was in clear view of the land, rose above the water like a dolphin. As the water enveloped Paz once again, he heard muffled exclamations. But the flying creatures did not look angry when Paz peered back at the shore from beneath the waves. No, they appeared to be in awe...
What is going on?
