In Admitting Defeat, I talked about why my episodic story failed. I also mentioned that I wasn't quite ready to give up the idea, so I promised to return to the storyboard and come up with something better. I'm quite fond of my new world and the ideas I have for the story.
Once I started delving into the idea of the story, building the world, and developing the characters I realized that in order to make it work I really had to commit. This time I went all the way--I created a dedicated site for the story (and a comic too!). Below is a synopsis/promo for series as well as a link to the first episode. Oasis
The survivors of Earth's devastation have been drifting through space for over 1000 years in a space ship known as The Ark. As the ships fuel supply gets lower and lower, the artificial intelligence system in The Ark realizes they must find a suitable planet to live on before the ship loses power. Scientists and military personnel are awoken with only one option: a mostly barren, desert planet with only a few pockets of water and vegetation. With no other options for survival, the pioneers make preparations to begin life on the fledgling planet. With no animal life forms to compete against, survival on the new planet should be as easy as cultivating a garden. Or so they thought. As survivors begin to disappear and unexplainable events take place, the human survivors wonder exactly what they've gotten themselves into. Will they grow to love Oasis and call it home, or is this the end of mankind's time in the universe?
